Croydon-born Gifty has been song-writing for a minute although under the radar her pen game still remains one of the most sought after songwriters in the music industry. She discovered her gift at a very young age in Rockmount Primary School at a Christmas talent show. As her art for singing flourished in her secondary school years at Norwood School she was given the opportunity to sing on ITV’s talent show ‘Stars Up Your Nose’. She later joined a girl group and sung at several local talent shows, sharing the stage with Michael Jackson at the World Music Awards, and landing a spot on MTV’s Hugo Boss Urban Rules competition where panellist judges were R&B star Amerie and Atlantic Records’ A&R Director Twin B, to eventually being signed to Merrystar/Universal Publishing as a songwriter. The exposure and glamour was a great experience but could not compare to the foundation that was made in her when she was called to serve as a Choir Leader of LivingStone Choir in London city church and now leading it for 8 years, the choir has expanded to over 50 members and three music groups in development. Gifty along the journey has experienced international success, scoring chart toppers abroad in the KPop arena with SM Entertainment’s Red Velvet, Amber An, Boyfriend, the Unicef campaign ‘This Is Your Day’ in South Korea as well as British favourites as The Wanted, MKS, and Roll Deep and Roger Sanchez.
